Life is Dream
A film by Vanesa Abajo Pérez
In a surreal narration with marveling images, Vanesa dissects the dream of her parents who fled for deep poverty from Spain to the Netherlands.
Their stay there was temporary for them. They polished the wheels of RET trams and cleaned the houses of Rotterdam people, to return to their village in Spain wealthy.
For Vanesa too the stay was supposed to be temporary, but she discovers her parents’ dream is a nightmare and faces an impossible choice. Follow her parents in their dream or take her own road. Through the eye of her camera, she investigates that choice; a tough testing of great visual intimacy.
